Welcome Remarks

Dear Esteemed Participants,

On behalf of the Agribusiness Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret, it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 1st International Conference on Agriculture and Food System 2025, held under the theme “Building Resilient Agriculture and Food Systems: Strategies for Overcoming Disruptions and Ensuring Food Security.”

This conference comes at a pivotal moment. As global food systems continue to face growing threats—from climate change and pandemics to geopolitical conflicts—our collective responsibility to ensure sustainability, resilience, and equity in agriculture has never been more urgent. Through this international platform, we aim to bring together leading scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and community innovators to share cutting-edge research, practical insights, and actionable strategies.

We are honored to feature distinguished keynote speakers and a diverse array of participants from across the globe. It is our hope that this virtual gathering will spark meaningful dialogue, foster new collaborations, and inspire innovative solutions to strengthen food systems for current and future generations.

Let us embrace this opportunity to co-create a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future for global agriculture and food security.

We look forward to your active participation and insightful contributions.

Warm regards,
Dr. Fanny Widadie

Manuscript Preparation

You may download materials for this conference as follows:

Before all of you submit the manuscript, please follow the guidelines when preparing your paper:

  • Manuscripts should be written in English.
  • For authors not fluent in English, we recommend having the manuscript carefully read by an English-speaking colleague or a professional editing service before publication.

Manuscripts must be submitted with a full title which appears at the top of the article. The title should reflect the contents of the paper and be specific, descriptive, concise, and comprehensible to readers outside the subject field (please avoid abbreviation and a title written in capital letters).

  • The authors should specify in the article their first and last names and relevant addresses (department, university / organization, city, state/province and country).
  • The list of co-authors should remain unchanged after a final decision is made by the Editors.

Pay special attention to the structured of the authors’ names in the list of authors. For instance, in the following example, “Di” is the surname (or name) while “Jiaying” is the given-name (or first name); “Hu” is the surname while “Wen” is the given name… The given-name (or first name) must be written in ITALIC.

Example:
Jiaying Di1, Wen Hu1, Mengxia Li1 and Hongtao Li2

Another Example:
Ervin Varga, Bojan Blagojevic and Dejan Mijic

“Varga” is the surname (or name) while “Ervin” is the given-name (or first name)
The way authors’ names are structured will have an impact on the indexation. If you make a mistake there, your names will not be properly indexed.

The abstract should describe the main objective(s) of the study. It should be informative and report the main results and conclusions.

The introduction should provide background that puts the manuscript into context and allows readers outside the field to understand the purpose and significance of the study. It should define the problem addressed and explain why it is important.

  • Authors who reproduce a figure or a table from another publication should clearly indicate the origin of the article and should also obtain the permission for reproduction from the author(s) and publisher concerned.
  • Each figure and table should be cited in the text. Each figure and table should have a caption.
  • The number of figures is not limited. However, it is important to make sure that all figures are necessary, not redundant, and well designed.
  • Authors should check the references to ensure they are correct.
  • References should be listed at the end of the manuscript.
  • Comments and notes are usually not allowed in the references; they should be placed as footnotes.
  • References must contain the full title of the cited article.
  • If available, authors must add the DOI number of the article.
  • This list must contain timely, accurate and relevant references. Ensure that a set of references doesn’t excessively point to the same author(s) or the same publication.
  • A maximum of 15 references per article is allowed, with only a maximum of 3 citations to proceedings articles. Please note that article exceeding this quota will be excluded from the publication by the production team.
Online references will be linked to their original source via CrossRef only if they are correctly formatted, e.g.
Lohrasebi, T. Koslowski, Modeling water purification by an aquaporin-inspired graphene-based nano-channel. J. Mol. Model. 25, 280 (2019). https://doi.org/10.1007/s00894-019-4160-y
All references must be cited in the text by placing sequential numbers in brackets (for example, [1], [2, 5, 7], [8-10]). They must be numbered in the reference list in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.

There is no limit of pages provided the article is of good quality and worthy for publication - They are longer than an abstract or a short report (3-4 pages min)
